Built Like a Beast – Strong. Smart. Sturdy.
Animals are built for survival, and their bones are the foundations of their strength and agility. In this hands-on workshop, young explorers will discover how the structures of bones help animals thrive in their environments. From the hollow yet powerful bones of birds to the dense, sturdy skeletons of mammals, learners will investigate what makes these structures so effective. They'll even get a chance to design and test their own bones to see how structure impacts strength.

Hands-On Science
Wonderers will analyze real bone structures from mammals, birds, and fish, comparing their shapes, densities, and functions. They'll then design their own bones and test them for strength, exploring how different structures provide support, flexibility, and protection.

Inquiry-Driven Extensions
Explorers will tackle real-world design challenges, testing their bone creations for strength and durability while learning how the structures of animals' bodies help them survive in harsh conditions.

Take-Home Learning Extensions
Learners will leave with their own model bones, ready to test at home, along with a family challenge to compare the bones of different animals and discover what makes them so strong and adaptable.
