Turn up the Volume on Learning!
Students will dive into the explosive world of sound waves, testing how vibrations travel through different materials and how volume and pitch impact the sounds we hear. They’ll build and test their own sound amplifiers, exploring the power of sound through hands-on experimentation.

Hands-On Science
Students will build mini sound amplifiers, test different materials for sound clarity, and experiment with volume, pitch, and frequency. They’ll use rubber bands, plastic cups, and metal springs to create high-energy sound experiments, competing for the loudest and clearest sounds.

Inquiry Driven Learning
Learners will explore how sound waves travel through solids, liquids, and gases, testing different materials to see which produces the clearest and loudest sounds. They’ll make predictions, test their setups, and refine their designs based on real-world feedback.

Take-Home Learning Extensions
Each student will take home a mini amplifier kit, perfect for testing sound waves at home. For a family extension, try building a full-size backyard sound wall using buckets, pipes, and metal sheets for a percussion-filled science jam!
