Feel the Beat of Science!
Students will dive into the world of vibrations and sound waves, building their own musical instruments and testing how different materials impact the sounds they create. They’ll discover how vibrations produce sound and explore the science behind pitch and volume.

Hands-On Science
Students will build simple string instruments, rubber band guitars, and DIY drums, experimenting with different materials to create high and low pitches. They’ll explore how tension, length, and thickness impact the sounds they produce, creating custom soundtracks for their final jam session.

Inquiry Driven Learning
Learners will test how different materials, lengths, and tensions affect the pitch and volume of their instruments. They’ll explore the relationship between vibration speed and sound frequency, making predictions and refining their designs based on real-world feedback.

Take-Home Learning Extensions
Each student will take home a custom mini instrument, perfect for experimenting with different sounds at home. For a family extension, try building a full set of homemade instruments for a backyard concert or sound experiment.
