Rock On!
Students will explore the rock cycle, transforming minerals into magnificent formations as they create igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. They’ll learn how heat, pressure, and time shape the stones beneath our feet.

Hands-On Science
Students will use clay, plaster, and small rock samples to model the three main types of rocks. They’ll build layers of “sedimentary” rock, melt and cool “igneous” rock, and use heat and pressure to create “metamorphic” formations. Each student will take home a set of handmade rock samples, perfect for building their own mini rock collections.

Inquiry Driven Learning
Learners will explore the rock cycle as a constantly changing system, testing how heat, pressure, and erosion impact rock formation. They’ll make predictions about how different forces shape rocks over time, refining their models based on real-world resul

Take-Home Learning Extensions
Each student will take home a rock cycle kit, complete with mini molds, plaster, and small rock samples. For a family extension, try creating a backyard rock garden or testing different weathering techniques on local rocks
