Summer might be a season of sunshine, but at The Learning Project, it's also a season of science—and we’re here for it. โ๏ธ๐งช
If you’ve ever wished summer learning could be more than just worksheets and Wi-Fi, this one’s for you. In the latest episode of The Learning Project Podcast, I’m sharing why our Wonder Workshops are transforming how kids experience science—and why hands-on learning is the spark that sticks.

๐ Summer Isn’t Just for Sunshine—It’s for Science
Let’s be real: summer can be stressful.
Parents are juggling schedules, screen time, and the “summer slide.”
Teachers are thinking about fall—and how to avoid burnout before the year even begins.
That’s why we created Wonder Workshops—to reimagine what summer learning can be.
These aren’t plug-and-play tech camps.
They’re purposeful, hands-on, inquiry-based science sessions that ignite joy, fuel curiosity, and build real STEM skills:
๐ก Critical Thinking
๐ง Creativity
๐ค Collaboration
๐ Communication
๐ฌ Inside the Wonder: What Makes These Workshops Different?
Picture this:
Your child walks into a space where microscopes sit next to art supplies, where sand tables lead to star maps, and curiosity is the key that unlocks every experience.
Here, students aren’t watching science.
They are the scientists.
They’re:
- Designing balloon blasters
- Building bone structure challenges
- Testing, modeling, and asking questions like “What if…?” and “Why?”
This is real STEM learning—done through play, design, and discovery.
๐ฌ Stories from the Lab: A 6-Year-Old Scientist in the Making
One of my favorite workshop moments this summer came from a little guy who’s often seen as “struggling” in school. He’s six. Fidgety. Bright. Often misunderstood.
At our Wonder Workshop, he built a balloon-powered blaster, tested it over and over again, and when I asked what was making it work?
Without hesitation he said:
“It’s the air pressure.” ๐ฒ
He didn’t need a test to prove he was smart.
He needed a moment of wonder to reveal it.
That’s what happens when we let kids lead.
They don’t just learn science—they see themselves as scientists.

๐ ๏ธ What’s Next: Our K–8 Curriculum Is Coming!
We’re not stopping with summer. This fall, we’re launching a full K–8 integrated STEM curriculum—designed for homeschool families, charter schools, micro-schools, and classroom educators who are ready to lead with science, not screens.
Stay tuned for:

- And of course—a whole lot of wonder.
๐ The Takeaway
STEM isn’t about gadgets.
It’s about growing thinkers.
It’s about making room for wonder.
And it’s about building learning spaces where kids can say:
“I did that. I figured it out. I belong here.”
Whether you're with us for one workshop or a full season—thank you for believing in this movement.
Let’s keep wondering, discovering, and helping every child shine.
