Mountain Makers July 21st

July 21,   2025

1:00-2:30  pm

Mountains are the giants of our planet, formed by the intense forces beneath the Earth’s crust. In this action-packed workshop, kids will explore the science behind mountain building, create their own rocky peaks, and discover how these massive formations rise, erode, and change over time. They’ll get their hands dirty with tectonic models, test the impact of pressure and heat, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the power of our planet.

What to Expect:

  • 🧪 Hands-On Science: Build mini mountains and test tectonic forces.

  • 🔎 Inquiry-Driven Learning: Experiment with pressure, collision, and erosion to understand how real mountains form and change.

  • 📚 Take-Home Learning Extensions: Create a mini mountain model and challenge your family to test its strength against the elements.
